Richard "Dick" Brumaghim, 77, of High Street, Peterborough died peacefully Thursday January 14,2010 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 27, 1932 in New Haven CT., son of the late Asel and Mary Elizabeth (Beach) Brumaghim. He was a 1950 graduate of Buckley High School in New Haven. He had attended Simpson College in Indianola Iowa as well as the University of Connecticut in Storrs,CT.
Richard had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a section leader with the third Infantry Division.
He had lived in New York and Connecticut and has been a resident of Peterborough since 1975.
Richard worked as a comptroller, office manager and general accountant for Union Bank, New London CT., New London Mills, JAYFO in Waterford CT, Albert H. Suprenaut, Jaffrey, Teleflex in Jaffrey, PMC Corp in Manchester and Medefab in Jaffrey.
He was a railroad scale model builder and had designed and built many of his own buildings and bridges, which he sold nationally through his small business known as Brum’s Scale Models and Brum’s Detail Houses.
During his life, Richard enjoyed reading, watching and playing golf, photography, carpentry, bowling, camping at Greenfield State Park with his family, vacationing in Bar Harbor Maine, taking walks with Sasha; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife , children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marion (Grippo) Brumaghim, three sons Richard Brumaghim Jr. of Alstead,NH, Thomas Brumaghim of New Ipswich NH, Steven Brumaghim and his wife Suzi of Troy, NH; three daughters Susan Smith and her husband Michael of Bennington NH, Judith Davidson and her husband Richard of Jaffrey NH, Marian Caisse and her husband Donald of Temple NH; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren ; two brothers Arthur Brumaghim of Lakeville FL and Stanley Brumaghim of Inverness, FL; a sister Isabel Terry of Maury, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
