Jaffrey, New Hampshire
Imogene Olive MacKenzie, 85, of Squantum Road, Jaffrey died peacefully Saturday January 16, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born October 17, 1924, in Jaffrey, daughter of the late Robert and Victoria (Robidoux) Whitehead. She had attended Conant High School and was a life long resident of this community.
She retired at the age of sixty two after having worked at D.D. Bean and Sons Co., King Manufacturing and Millipore Corp all in Jaffrey.
She was a charter member of the Jaffrey Memorial Post #5613 VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
She loved shopping and eating out. In her younger years she enjoyed camping with her family and playing cribbage.
Survivors include her husband of fifty one years, Harry E. MacKenzie; a son Robert Jalbert and his wife Carolyn of Jaffrey; a daughter Sandra Madden and son-in-law Michael of Keene; four grandchildren Megan Kivela and her husband Joshua of Somerville, MA, Kristen Jalbert of Medford, MA, Nathan Madden and Julie Madden both of Swanzey, NH; one great granddaughter, Chloe Marie Kivela of Somerville, MA; two step-sons Freddie MacKenzie of Swanzey and Harry MacKenzie of Jaffrey; two step-daughters Dorinda Louise of Alton, NH and Ellen Champney of Greer, SC; two step-grandchildren, Shawn Affeldt of Jaffrey and Dawn Stacey of Hancock; many step-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister Priscilla Walsh of Chicago Illinois in January 2009 and her brother Melvin F. Whitehead of Jaffrey in February 1995.
