The Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center is proud to offer everyone in New England the most distinguished vehicle available in funeral service today, the
Tombstone Motorcycle Hearse.

The original concept of a Victorian-era hearse towed by a three-wheeled motorcycle was conceived well over a decade ago, but the idea and its designs were not brought into realization until 2001.  At that same time, V-Twin power was substituted for the duo of horses - horsepower instead of horse power - to bring the classic 19th century hearse into these modern days.

Obviously, the first thought when seeing this hearse is that it is an alternative that caters to the families and loved ones of over 11 million motorcycle enthusiasts nationwide.  Instead, it has been found that a large percentage of families using this motorcycle hearse have never even touched a motorcycle.  Expanding on this discovery, the Tombstone Hearse Company has become the prime choice for many Military and Police funerals due to the superior dignity and honor these hearses provide.

Many attempt to mimic the basic look of the Tombstone Hearse by using plywood, simple utility trailers and other lesser building materials.  They also try to employ a simpler, but very unbalanced and more dangerous tow behind hitch system.  While well-intentioned, these individuals have usually only made one attempt at creating a vehicle like this.  Whereas many years of engineering and design testing, in addition to the highest quality of craftsmanship and most importantly, the attention to safety, has resulted in what has become the world renowned Tombstone Hearse.

Our Tombstone Hearse is the largest, safest, and most recent design.  Known as the Series III, the uniform black and chrome style flows smoothly bringing out the quality accents throughout the entire vehicle.  From the laminated deck floor with cut mohair trim, to the crushed velour curtains that line the decoratively etched safety glass windows, the Series III is not only a hearse, it is clearly a show piece truly worthy of the great men and women who have traveled to their final destination within.

~ Our Commitment to Service ~

All of our specialty hearses can be at the funeral home of your choice, anywhere in New England, usually within 48-hours of the initial notification.  Plus, they are always able to be selected when prearranging a funeral or memorial service for the future.

We will help you design every Funeral or Memorial Service to match the lifestyle and wishes of those who have passed away.  We offer something different from the typical or traditional direct route to the final resting place.  Instead, we take the time to include a ride on a favorite road or to pass by a sentimental place which makes our service unique and provides a tribute that will be remembered and cherished for years to come.

If we, at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, are assisting your family with the services, the cost of using this hearse will be no different than the charge for using our standard hearse.  We will also assist you with personalizing every service even further by providing several memorial areas for displaying items from home such as pictures, collectibles and other memorabilia to help accurately portray the individual as they were.

If the funeral or memorial service is for a retired Law Enforcement Officer, Fire Fighter, EMT or Military personal, we will offer a 20% discount.  Or, if the death occurred in the line of duty, or if the service is for a child up to the age of 15, our assistance will be provided free of charge. Yes, even pet services are offered at a discount as well.  Even though we are located in the Northeast, we will make every effort to ensure that our service is available 365 days a year. We do our best to be prepared for all kinds of weather.

All of our drivers are responsible professionals who will treat you with respect and are highly trained and efficient in the execution of our service. Their attire and attention to detail is always impeccable. A white tuxedo shirt, string tie and black vest, black pants, boots shined along with a single spur representing the loss of the individual.  We feel the uniform exudes nostalgic style while maintaining a sense of dignity and respect. Although the coach resembles days gone by, you may rest assured that all safety precautions have been carefully addressed to provide for a safe ride for all.

Jaffrey’s Antique Wheel & Sleigh Hearses with the new addition.

This beautiful, handcrafted motorcycle drawn hearse is equipped to transport standard and oversized caskets for traditional burial.  It is also designed to safely transport our Funeral Ark and urns for cremation ceremonies as well.  This hearse is a welcome addition to our various specialty hearses, because, even when meticulously restored, a historic horse drawn hearse is not able to accommodate any of today’s standard size caskets, let alone an oversized one.
