Alan A. Poikonen

Alan A. Poikonen, 5, of Rindge, NH died on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a very brief illness.


Alan was born on May 12, 2003 in Peterborough, NH, the son of Keith A. and Margaret (Dearani) Poikonen. He was in the Kindergarten Class at the Rindge Memorial School.


Alan was very creative and enjoyed drawing and coloring. He was an all around good and caring child who loved playing with family and friends, especially with his little brother Austin. He loved playing outside and could often be found either riding his bike or kicking a soccer ball around for hours. He will be remembered for always trying to make sure people around him were happy.


Alan was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather, Alan Poikonen, on August 3, 2000.


In addition to his parents, Alan is survived by his brother, playmate and best friend, Austin Poikonen of Rindge, NH; his Maternal Grandparents, Abraham and Elizabeth Dearani of Fitzwilliam, NH; his Paternal Grandmother, Sally Poikonen of Rindge, NH; and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alans name to the Rindge Memorial School, 58 School Street, Rindge, NH 03461

Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery on Goddard Road in Rindge.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
