Alice M. Emery

Alice M. (Cloutier) Emery, 98, a lifelong resident of Jaffrey and Peterborough, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in her home with her family by her side.

She was born on October 16, 1922 in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, a daughter of the late John and Rose (Gamache) Cloutier. Alice was raised and educated in local schools.

Throughout her life, Alice had various jobs within the community. She loved traveling and camping with her family. She was also a member of Cheney-Armstrong American Legion Post # 5, in Peterborough, which she and her husband helped facilitate for many years.

Alice was predeceased by her husband Henry G. Emery in 2017. Her siblings, Patrick Cloutier, Lenore Ricter, and Jeannette Bergeron also died earlier.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ball of New Ipswich, NH; her son, Theodore Brunell of Winchester, NH; her stepsons, Doug Emery of Balwin, MO, and Robin Emery of Florida; her grandchildren; Michael Christian of New Ipswich, NH, Melissa Fernald of Jaffrey, NH, Kimberly Mercier of Rindge, NH and Carrie Emery of St. Charles, MO; one great grandchild, Anna Fernald of Jaffrey, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

At Mrs. Emery’s request, there will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:00AM in St. Peter’s Cemetery, on High Street in Peterborough, NH.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Peterborough Ambulance, c/o Peterborough Fire & Rescue, 16 Summer Street, Peterborough, NH 03458 or to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W. Swanzey Rd, Swanzey, NH 03446.
