Alice M. Zwart

April 27, 1932 — December 12, 2014

Alice M. Zwart, 82, passed away on December 12, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in the Netherlands on April 27, 1932, and lived her life as a devoted wife to husband Frens, and loving mother to her children and their families.

Alice grew up and graduated from high school in the Netherlands. Continuing her education, she achieved diplomas/certificates for business studies in both the Netherlands and the United States. While Alice was employed in various jobs throughout her life, her main focus was taking care of her family. One of her greatest joys was living in Rindge, NH, for over twenty-five years with her husband. In Rindge, Alice enjoyed a peaceful life in God’s country, surrounded by a community of loving friends and church family. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church and Society (UCC) of Rindge. Living in Rindge afforded the opportunity for her children and grandchildren to visit and enjoy the surrounding nature and outdoor activities. Many lasting memories were created when visiting “Oma”.

Throughout her lifetime, Alice’s wonderful sense of humor, faith and positive attitude, enabled her to look adversity in the face and continue on with life. She cared deeply about her family and friends, and was generous to all. Alice will be deeply missed.

Alice is survived by her children, Dirk and Renee Zwart, Helena and William Blackwood, Jacob and Janice Zwart, and Frederick and Susan Zwart. She was the loving grandmother of fourteen grandchildren. Alice also leaves two sisters, Hettie Fransen of the Netherlands, and Wilma Casteleyn of Canada, multiple brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends. She is predeceased by her husband Frens Zwart.

It being Alice’s wish, there will be no visitation.

A memorial service will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at First Congregational Church and Society (UCC), Rindge, NH, at 12:30 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Alice’s memory may be made to the First Congregational Church and Society (UCC), Rindge, NH, P.O. Box 451, Rindge, NH 03461.
