Barbara A. Webb, 82, of Jaffrey died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jaffrey, surrounded by friends after a period of failing health.

Mrs. Webb was born in Springfield, MA on September 8, 1928, daughter of the late Kenneth and Pauline (Arnold ) Field. She had been a resident of Jaffrey since 1967.

Mrs. Webb had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 31 years. While passionately caring for others, she felt the burden the families were experiencing and saw the need for a facility that could provide a higher level of quality care to the elderly. It was with her vision that the Monadnock Christian Nursing Home began and eventually evolved into what is now known as the Good Shepherd Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jaffrey.

Mrs. Webb was a founding member and faithful servant of the Jaffrey Bible Church. She will be fondly remembered by her Christian brothers and sisters as a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and for her constant reading of the scriptures and intercessory prayer for the needs ofothers.

Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her husband Warren C. Webb on May 23, 1990 and by her brothers Norman Field, Charles Field and Kenneth Field.

She is survived by her son William David Webb, and his wife Lynn of Derry, NH; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her brother Russell and his wife Ruby Field of Athens, GA and many close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Webbs name to the Deacons Fund, C/O Jaffrey Bible Church, PO Box 505, Jaffrey, NH 03452, faithful ministers to the needy.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202) Jaffrey.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Jaffrey Bible Church, 133 Turnpike Road (Route 124) Jaffrey; Pastor Brent Charles will officiate. Burial will follow at Conant Cemetery in Jaffrey.
