Charles A. Tenney

Charles A. Tenney, Jr., 90, of Fitzwilliam, NH and formerly a 31 year resident of Clearwater, Florida, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene after a period of failing health.

Mr. Tenney was born in Winchendon, Massachusetts on February 17, 1917, son of the late Charles and Nellie (Flagg) Tenney. He was a 1935 graduate and his Class President of the original Murdock School in Winchendon.

After graduation, Mr. Tenney joined the United States Navy and served our country for over 30 years. He had been stationed in many locations across the globe and on several naval vessels throughout his many years of dedicated service.

Mr. Tenney was a member of the Retired Officers Association and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was a long time Master Mason and also belonged to affiliated bodies including the Shrine. Mr. Tenney enjoyed woodworking, fishing and operating Shortwave Radio.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cecelia M. Tenney on October 8, 1960.

Mr. Tenney is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jean (Baker) Tenney of Dunedin, Florida, his daughter Patricia and her husband Lynn Rowe of Jaffrey, NH; his 2 sons, Charles 'œPete' Tenney, III of Fitzwilliam and Richard K. Tenney of Dunedin, FL; 2 Grandsons, Christopher Sasner of Rindge and Jonathan Sasner of Jaffrey; 3 Great-Grandsons, Nolan, Corbin and Jordan Sasner, all of Jaffrey and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

At Mr. Tenney'™s request, there will be no calling hours.

Spring burial will take place in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery in Warren, MA at the convenience of the family.
