Charles R. Bruno

Charles R. Bruno, 84, died while surrounded by his loving family on June 12, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Jaffrey, NH.

He was born in Revere, MA on March 21, 1931, a son of the late Joseph and Claire (Dube) Bruno. Charles was raised and educated in the Revere, MA area and graduated from Revere High School in 1949. Following graduation from high school Charles enlisted in the United States Army. He earned an honorable discharge and left the Army with the rank of Private First Class.

Charles married Helen (Goddard) Bruno in 1952. He worked for many years with the Massachusetts State Police as a Supervisor in the Mechanics Division.
Charles resided in Upton, MA before relocating after retirement to Rindge, NH.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Helen, and by their son, John Bruno.

Survivors include, his longtime companion and loving friend, Elizabeth (Betty) Taft of Winchendon, MA; Daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Thomas Ripley of Grantham, NH; Son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Yongsim Bruno of Rindge, NH; Daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Adam Townsend of Manchester, NH; Daughter, Kathleen Jones of Boston, MA; Son, Joseph D. Bruno of Keene, NH; Daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Gutowski of Uxbridge, MA and Son Charles R. Bruno Jr. of Lee Center, NY. Charles is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per Charles’ wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Charles memory to the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Activities Fund, 20 Plantation Drive, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
