Clara L. Pelkey

Clara Louise Pelkey, 82, of Jaffrey, NH died peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey, NH. Clara was born on September 8, 1932 in Goffstown, NH, daughter of the late Henry and Maude (Putnam) Davis. She was raised and educated in Amherst, NH and graduated from Amherst High School in 1950. Mrs. Pelkey had worked for 25 years at D.D. Bean & Sons in Jaffrey before working at Millipore Corp. in Jaffrey and retired in 1990. Following Clara’s retirement she was able take part in reading, ice skating, volunteering with the Jaffrey Fire Department Auxiliary, as well as dancing to Elvis songs and especially enjoying time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Clara was pre-deceased by her parents, Henry and Maude and her loving husband Clifford A. Pelkey, who died in 1980. She is survived by her daughter, Robin A. Vose of Jaffrey; her two sons, Robert A. Pelkey of Jaffrey, and Randall A. Pelkey of Hickory, NC; her brother, Robert A. Davis of Amherst, NH; her sister Beverley A. Pelkey of Marlborough, NH; her grandchildren, Shane Waldron, Sean Waldron, Travis Pelkey, Vanessa Pelkey, Jillian Pelkey, Corey Pelkey and Shannon Pelkey, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held in the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 2:00PM. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery in the spring.
