Dixie Howard Brodmerkle, 94, of Jaffrey, died Sunday January 27, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Health Care Center in Jaffrey. She was born October 8, 1918 in Waxhaw, NC, daughter of the late Richard M. and Margaret (Sims) Kimbrell. She was a 1936 graduate of Waxhaw High School. Dixie has been a resident of Jaffrey since 1938. She had worked as a bookkeeper for many years, starting at W.W. Cross Co during the World War II era. The park has been maintained over the years by the Jaffrey VFW and serves as a gathering spot each Memorial Day by Jaffrey veterans and their families. Most of all, Dixie loved being a mother and caretaker to her family, children and friends. A true southern belle, Dixie endlessly tended to others. Dixie was married to Charles H.
