DORIS A. THERRIEN, 85, of Poplar Court in Jaffrey died on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough after a period of failing health.

Mrs. Therrien was born in Jaffrey, NH on May 31, 1921 and was a lifelong resident of this community. She was the daughter of Vincent and Helen (Shelley) Adams and was a graduate of Conant High School.

Mrs. Therrien was a Maternity Nurse at Leominster Hospital for several years. Later she had worked at Millipore Corporation in Jaffrey and then at Ames Department Store in Peterborough before retiring in 1995.

Mrs. Therrien was an avid reader and enjoyed making puzzles. She loved her family and was the babysitter of choice for her grandchildren as well as her niece and nephews. She was very fond of cats and always preferred walking around town instead of driving. Mrs. Therrien had been a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Jaffrey.

Her husband, Roger L. Therrien, preceded her in death on March 22, 1991.

She is survived by her son Vincent and his wife Maria Therrien of Wilton, NH; her 2 grandsons, Roger Therrien of Wilton, NH and Charles Moz of Minnesota; her sister Tomma Goodwin of Peterborough, NH; her niece Tomma Schachtner of St. Paul, Minnesota; her 2 nephews, Christopher Goodwin of Peterborough, NH and Timothy Goodwin of Keene, NH; and many cousins and close friends.

At Mrs. Therrien'™s request, there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will take place later in the spring at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Therrien'™s name to the Jaffrey '“ Rindge Memorial Ambulance, PO Box 107, Jaffrey, NH 03452-0107.

The Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Jaffrey is assisting the family with arrangements.
