Edward H. Allen

Edward ‘Eddie’ Allen, 70 formerly of Nutting Road, Jaffrey, died peacefully Tuesday August 28, 2012 at the Bedford, Massachusetts V.A. Medical Center, following a long period of failing health. He was born on August 10, 1942 in South Gardiner, Maine, son of the late Harland and Dorothy (McCarthy) Allen. He had attended Framingham (MA) High School before entering the United States Marine Corps and faithfully serving his country from 1960 to 1963. Eddie had been a resident of Jaffrey from 1985 to 2004 and had previously lived in Framingham, MA. He enjoyed visiting with neighbors and assisting them with various odd jobs. He also enjoyed building puzzles together with friends. Eddie is survived by his sister, Jacqueline Burrows of Jaffrey; an Aunt and an Uncle; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his two sisters Ruth Pelkey and Lorraine Kurtz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick School, 70 Main Street, Jaffrey NH 03452.

At Eddie’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 1, at 11:00 AM at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev. Wilfred H. Deschamps, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow on Tuesday, September 4, at 12:30 PM in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
