Elaine (Cote) Kelley, 64, of Rindge, died Thursday September 24, 2009 at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on February 19, 1945 in Lowell, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Gaston and Una (Bechard) Cote. She was a graduate of Chelmsford High School in Chelmsford, MA.

Mrs. Kelley had worked in the accounting department for a plastics company for 17 years before moving to Rindge where she worked briefly at Wal-Mart and then at Millipore in Jaffrey where she recently retired from.

Mrs. Kelley was a great animal lover, rescuing and caring for sick and abused animals. She was a strong supporter of all local animal groups. Mrs. Kelley was also an avid crafter and participated in many local craft fairs.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Robert J. Kelley of Rindge, NH; her sister Janice Lacombe of Methuen, MA; her brother Gary Beaulieu of Tyngsboro, MA; 3 aunts, Theresa Dundas of Ashuelot, NH, Esther LeCourt and Della Bechard, both of Westford, MA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends; and her mother-in-law, Thelma Kelley of Lowell, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue, 93 Monadnock Highway, Keene, NH 03431, or to Monadnock Kitty Rescue and Adoption, PO Box 468, Jaffrey NH 03452.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours which will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202) Jaffrey.

A Funeral Service will be held immediately following Calling Hours at 4:00 PM in the chapel at the Cournoyer Funeral Home Cremation Center. Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, Pastor of Saint Patrick Church in Jaffrey will officiate.
