Jaffrey, New Hampshire Frederick S. Richardson, 83, of Spaulding Road, Jaffrey died peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Langdon Place in Keene following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mr. Richardson was born on June 25, 1928 in Boston, Mass; son of the late Joseph and Gladys (Spencer) Richardson. He had received his education at the Kent School and Pomfret School, both in Connecticut, and at Brown University in Rhode Island. As a child, he summered in Jaffrey and later his family moved here permanently from Concord, Mass. Mr. Richardson owned and operated ‘The Village Shop’ on Main Street in Jaffrey for many years. He later worked at Berger Lahr in Jaffrey and retired in 1990. He loved hiking and Mount Monadnock, and he particularly enjoyed working at Monadnock State Park for many years after he retired. Mr. Richardson enjoyed photography as a hobby and created several post card images of Jaffrey and the area’s scenic landscapes. He also remained active in the Jaffrey community. He served as a Trustee of the Jaffrey Public Library and was a committee member of the Monadnock Advisory Commission. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn (Bryant) Richardson of Jaffrey; his two daughters, Jennifer D. Richardson of Keene, NH, and her close friend Alan Dean of Surry, NH, Stephanie R. Repaci and her husband Max of Dublin, NH; his grandson Joseph Repaci of Dublin; his sister Joan Fay of Colorado; his brother Peter Richardson and his wife Corrine of Exeter, NH, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Abbott Fay.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jaffrey Public Library, C/O Trustees of the Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.

As per his request, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of Mr. Richardson’s life will be private and at the convenience of the family.
