George O. Lathrop

George O. Lathrop, 79, of Jaffrey, died on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Pheasantwood Nursing Home in Peterborough, NH after a period of failing health.

George was born on February 21, 1935 in Manchester, CT, son of the late Alton and Ruth (Turner) Lathrop. He attended schools in Manchester and had worked most of his life as a truck driver delivering grain for several different farms. He has lived in Jaffrey for the past 21 years.

He is survived by his significant other of over 37 years, Shirley A. Barber of Jaffrey, his daughter Merry of Acworth, NH; his 5 sons, George, Jr. of Claremont, NH, Jay of Keene, NH, Thomas of Claremont, James of Adams, MA and Alton of Keene; 3 grandchildren, James Jr. and Angel of Adams, MA and Sandra of Claremont, NH and 1 great-granddaughter, Cassandra of Claremont; 2 sisters, Irene DeVanney of Florida and Manchester, CT and Mary Giovino of Manchester, CT and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
