HAZEL A. DYER, 90, formerly of Troy and Jaffrey, NH died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Genesis Elder Care Center in Keene, NH.She was born November 2, 1917 in Bridgeport CT, daughter of the late John and Myra (Flye) Burns.She was educated at the Nevin School in South Weymouth MA and graduated from Weymouth High School.Mrs. Dyer worked at the Hingham Shipyard in Massachusetts during WWII as a welder.She was employed at D.D. Bean and Sons Co in Jaffrey until her retirement. After retiring, she entered the Peace Corps and served two terms in Sierra Leone, Africa, returning a third time on her own. Mrs. Dyer had also worked as a CNA with Home Health Care in the greater Monadnock area.Mrs. Dyer was an avid animal lover, enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and traveling. She was a member of the United Church of Jaffrey and sang in the church choir for many years. She later attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in Jaffrey.She is survived by four daughters Sally Ramsey of Anson Maine, Mary Jane Hughgill and her husband Robert of Starks, Maine, Marjorie Rollins of Troy, NH and Claudette Goodrich and her husband Robert of East Swanzey; two sons Leslie Dyer Jr. of Strong, Maine and Kent Dyer and his wife Jeanette of Industry, Maine; 27 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Louise Mabel of Hingham Massachusetts; nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, Post Office Box 678, Route 10, West Swanzey NH 03469.

Private burial in Hillside Cemetery, Rindge will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral Services will be held Monday January 7, 2008 at 11:00AM in the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey. Pastor Timothy Haynes of Anson, Maine will officiate.
