Hector J. Marceau, 92, resident of Rindge, NH died with his loving wife by his side in the early morning hours of December 1, 2015 at the Golden Living Center, Fitchburg.

Hector was born on September 29, 1923 in Mason, NH, a son of the late Oscar and Matilda (Jacques) Marceau.

After graduating from Fitchburg High School, Hector enlisted in the United States Army in the spring of 1943. After his faithful service to his country, Hector was Honorably Discharged in November of 1946. Hector was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions during combat that attributed to saving many lives of his fellow soldiers.

Hector married the love of his life, Eleanor Aho, on December 13, 1947.

After his military service had concluded, Hector began a successful career in the industrial manufacturing field. When he retired in 1985, he then went on to form his own company, Marceau’s Industrial Belt Services.

Hector lived many places; Mason, NH, Fitchburg, MA, Lunenburg, MA, Port Charlotte, FL and finally settled in Rindge, NH.

One of his many hobbies was golf, Hector could always be seen on those nice summer or spring days golfing with his friends or family – it was his true passion. Other than golf, his other true passion was spending time with his children and especially time spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Eleanor, Hector is survived by his 3 daughters, Sharon of Ft. Myers, FL; Julie of Winchendon, MA and Joyce Marr of Portsmouth, NH; his 2 sons, Randy of Jefferson, MA and Joel of Manchester, NH; his brother Raymond of Lunenburg, MA; his grandchildren Stacey, Devan and Ian; his greatgrandchild Christian, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

SERVICES: Hector requested that private services be held for the family only. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
