Jane Ann Kelly(Houston)

Jane Ann Kelly, 49, of Englewood, Florida died Nov. 12, 2010.Jane Ann was born June 3, 1961, in Peterborough, N.H., the daughter of David J. Houston and the late Patricia (Lang) Houston. She was the wife of Patrick J. Kelly of Englewood. Jane Ann graduated from Springfield College, Springfield, Mass., in 1983, and from New Hampshire Technical Institute, Concord, N.H., in 1991. She was a registered nurse. Throughout her life, Jane Ann showed deep compassion for people and animals alike, and she always gave generously of her time and finances to non-profit organizations and causes that she cared about. She volunteered with the St. Francis Animal Rescue in Venice and the Cocheco Valley Humane Society in Dover, N.H. She also volunteered with a therapeutic riding program at the University of New Hampshire that paired horses with disabled children and adults, to assist with their physical and emotional therapy. Her deep compassion and willingness to always lend a hand to less fortunate people and animals will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed. Jane Ann was an avid gardener, and her beautiful flower gardens were the envy of her neighborhood. She greatly enjoyed scuba diving in the Caribbean with her husband, Patrick. Jane Ann loved the ocean and the beautiful coastlines of New Hampshire and Maine. She was a lifelong resident of southern New Hampshire until becoming a permanent resident of Florida in 2007. Jane Ann's family and friends were fortunate to have known and loved her, and to be touched by her generosity and compassion. She was loved by many, and her spirit will live on in each of us.

Survivors include husband of 21 years, Patrick of Englewood, Florida; her father, David of Venice, Florida; a brother, Robert Houston, and his wife, Carolyn Houston, of South Berwick, Maine; a brother, Jeffrey Houston of Hampton, N.H.; a mother-in-law, Mary Meehan Kelly of Jericho, Vt.; a sister-in-law, Mary Kelly Martineau of Jericho, VT; a brother-in-law, Thomas Kelly, and his wife, Carrie, of Queensbury, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Sean Kelly, and his wife, Meghan, of Dover, N.H.; a sister-in-law, Ann Kelly of Dover, N.H.; nieces Emma Houston, Elizabeth Houston, Gabrielle, Megan Martineau, Katie Martineau and Ava Kelly; and nephews Andre, Nicholas Kelly, Liam Kelly and Gavin Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis Animal Rescue in Venice, Florida or the Cocheco Valley Humane Society in Dover, N.H.

Burial will follow in the family lot in the new St. Peters Cemetery.

A Mass in her memory will be held Tuesday November 30, 2010 at 1:00PM in St. Peter Church of the Devine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street in Peterborough. Rev Gerald Belanger, Pastor, will officiate.
