Jeffrey J. Soderberg, 39, of Warrenton, VA and formerly of Jaffrey, NH, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Virginia as a result of injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident. Jeffrey was born in Rockland, Maine on February 14, 1972, son of Lloyd and Beverly (Magill) Soderberg. He was a 1990 graduate of Conant High School in Jaffrey and had attended the Virginia Military Institute, Clarkson University, the Hebron Academy and Keene State College, with studies in Civil Engineering, Math and Physics. Jeffrey was the Quality Assurance Manager at Mediatech, Inc. in Manassas, VA when he died. He had held positions in Quality Assurance, Validation Engineering and Technical Services Engineering to insure the manufacturing and quality compliance of FDA regulated pharmaceuticals, medical devices, computer systems and materials. Jeffrey possessed the required technical skills with equipment, utilities and software, and compliance expertise in processes and documentation of maintaining quality and control. He had been employed at the consulting firms of Performance Validation, Kemper Masterson Inc. and PAREXEL in Belmont, MA, after having served an internship at the pharmaceutical manufacturer, BioPure Corporation in Cambridge, MA. In his profession, Jeffrey was a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA). In his community, Jeffrey was President, Player, and Youth Coach of the Warrenton (Virginia) Rugby Club. Jeffrey enjoyed all aspects of the grueling sport of Rugby. He also enjoyed fishing, watching the Red Sox, fantasy baseball and Cribbage. He will always be treasured for his warm and generous spirit, his zest for life, and his grinning way of making us all laugh. In addition to his parents in Jaffrey, NH, Jeffrey is survived by his sister, Debra Anderson of Vancouver, British Columbia, and his brother Bruce Soderberg of San Antonio, Texas, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was very proud of his players, and felt privileged to give back to game and the kids he loved so much. In Coach “OJ’s” honor, a grant program has been established to support disadvantaged youth athletes who wish to play the game of rugby. His passion lives on with your gracious contribution that will go towards registration fees for less fortunate players.
