Jerry Lee Jones

July 12, 1936 — May 19, 2010

JERRY LEE JONES, 73 of Cleveland TN, formerly of Richmond NH, winning the battle to cancer, but losing the battle to Parkinsons and Lewy Body Disease, died peacefully Wednesday May 19, 2010 at his residence with his wife and daughter by his side.
He was born July 12, 1936 in Morehead City, NC, son of the late Walter and Lucille (Willis) Jones.

Mr. Jones was a self employed commercial fisherman for fifty years from Cape Canaveral, Florida to Cape May, New Jersey He fished, shrimped, scalloped in the Atlantic Ocean and clammed in the St. John river in Florida until his retirement in 1999.

Mr. Jones was a Special Deputy for the Sheriffs Department in Beaufort, North Carolina, Carteret County from 1970 to 1982 under Sheriff Ralph L. Thomas.
He and his wife Madeleine (Jolicoeur) Jones were foster parents for eight years in Brevard County, Florida.
Upon retiring, he and his wife moved to Richmond NH where they had lived until moving to Tennessee in October 2003.
Mr. Jones was a Traditional Catholic and was Brother Joseph Benedict, a Third Order member of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at St. Benedict Center in Richmond New Hampshire.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years Madeleine I. Jones of Cleveland,TN; a daughter Jerri Ann (Jones) Willis of Waynesboro TN; three sons Donnie Lee Jones, James Allen Jones and Walter Eugene Jones all of Beaufort NC; his grand-daughter Christine (Jones) Schroth of Louisville KY; a grandson Mark Gilikin of Waynesboro TN; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Benedict Center, Post Office Box 627, Richmond NH 03470. towards Masses for the repose of his soul.

Burial will take placeafter Mass in St. Benedict Center Cemetery in Richmond, NH.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202 south) in Jaffrey on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00PM.

A Requiem Mass will be held on Friday May 28, 2010 at 11:00AM in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel at St. Benedict Center, 95 Fay Martin Road, Richmond, NH.
