Joseph G. Willis, 62, of Jaffrey, died Saturday August 22, 2015 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester following a period of failing health.

He was born in Peterborough on August 10, 1953, son of the late George A. and Victoria (Despres) Willis.

Joe was a long time resident of Jaffrey and was a 1971 graduate of Conant High School.

Following graduation Joe had moved to Palm Beach, Florida where he worked in construction with his brother Roger for twelve years.

In 1992 Joe returned to Jaffrey and began working at Teleflex Medical, where he was employed until 2009 when his health prevented him from working.

Joe enjoyed being in the great outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish and hike. After being unable to work, he enjoyed making crafts at home.

He is survived by his wife of twenty years Paula (Dunton) Willis of Jaffrey; his son and daughter Andrew Willis and Sharon Willis both of Jaffrey; his step-daughter Christine Donnelly of Shalimar, FL; a brother Charles M. Willis of Spooner Wisconsin; his sister Jane V. Willis of Jaffrey; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brother Roger A. Willis in 1996.

As per Joe’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 28, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00PM at the Jaffrey Memorial VFW Post #5613, Hathorn Road in Jaffrey.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Neighbor Fund, P.O. Box 486, Jaffrey NH 03452.
