Edwin B. Klein, Jr.

September 4, 1925 — April 27, 2008

Edwin B. Klein, Jr., 82, of Monomonac Terrace in Rindge died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, NH after a courageous battle with Alzheimers disease.
 
He was born on September 4, 1925 in Ossing, NY, son of the late Edwin and Katharine (Sharpless) Klein.  He graduated from the George School in Newtown, PA in 1943 and graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Haverford College in Haverford, PA in 1947.
 
Mr. Klein had proudly served with the United States Navy during World War II.   He had worked as a Quotation Engineer with the Foxboro Company until he retired in 1986.  Mr. Klein had been a resident of Rindge since 1986 and had previously lived in Pleasantville, NY and Riverton, NJ before living in Foxboro, Massachusetts for over 25 years.
 
Mr. Klein was a longtime member of the Bethany Congregational Church in Foxboro where he had served on the Finance Committee and was often an usher.  He loved all sports and was a lifelong fan of the New York Giants.  He enjoyed playing golf and always tried to imitate his hero Arnold Palmer.  Mr. Klein also enjoyed track and field events and was a master bridge player.  He enjoyed traveling with his family and he and his wife had always loved square dancing together with the Sunshine Twirlers in Jaffrey.
 
Mr. Klein was preceded in death by his only daughter, Wendy Lee Klein, on April 28, 2000
 
Mr. Klein is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia (Walsh) Klein of Rindge, whom he married on March 9, 1957.  He is also survived by his sons John W. Klein of Portland, Maine and Michael E. Klein of Rindge, NH; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers, John S. Klein of Jacksonville, Florida and Robert A. Klein of Gainesville, Florida and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to any Salvation Army location near you.

As per his request, there will be no calling hours.

Friends and family are warmly invited to a Celebration of Mr. Kleins life on Saturday May 3, 2008 at 19 Monomonac Terrace in Rindge, NH from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.  His family will gather together as a final tribute to him on Jekyll Island in Georgia on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
