Juliette DeGrandpre

April 12, 1933 — January 1, 2017

Juliette DeGrandpre, 83, of Jaffrey died peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Langdon Place in Keene after a brief illness.

She was born on April 12, 1933 in Greenville, NH, daughter of the late Esidore and Marion (Gagnon) Martin. Juliette was raised in Jaffrey and was a 1952 graduate of Conant High School before attending the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital Nurses Training School, now the Brigham & Woman’s Hospital in Boston, where she became a Registered Nurse.

Juliette was an avid Patriots fan and also enjoyed sewing, knitting, embroidery, reading, and gardening. She will always be lovingly remembered as being the ultimate hostess and always taking care of others. She enjoyed volunteering her time to the town in many ways, including serving actively on the Alice Poole Fund as a trustee and as the Supervisor of the Checklist for the Town of Jaffrey. She was active on the Gilmore Pond Association and loved the outdoors and swimming in her favorite pond. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Juliette had married Gerald ‘Ged’ Degrandpre on September 15, 1956 and they made their home in Jaffrey. Ged preceded Juliette in death on July 14, 2016. Her brother, Neil Martin, also died earlier in 1982.

She is survived by her three sons, Martin, Paul and Stephen; her four grandchildren, Benjamin Degrandpre, Cadence DeGrandpre, Kimberly DeGrandpre and Kellsey and her husband Seth Waymire; one great grandson, Callahan Waymire; her nephew, John Martin and many cousins and close friends.

As per Juliette’s request, there will be no formal services at this time.
Mr. & Mrs. DeGrandpre will be remembered together in a memorial service during the summer.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Alice Poole Fund, in care of the Alice Poole Fund Committee, PO Box 727, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
