Kara Traffie

August 5, 1965 — February 17, 2022

Kara Jean Traffie, 56, of New Ipswich, NH died peacefully at home on February 17, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on August 5, 1965 in Peterborough, NH, the daughter of Theodore Seppala and Shirley (Somero) Seppala. She was raised in Ashby, MA, a graduate of Monty Tech Class of 1983. She went on to become an LNA, worked for a printing company, and then as secretary and bookkeeper for multiple businesses, including her brother’s roofing business.

After her children were all school age, she enjoyed working as an aide in the New Ipswich schools. On August 29, 1992 she married the love of her life, Carl Traffie, also of Ashby, MA. They moved to New Ipswich and have resided there ever since raising their family. Kara’s pride and joy were her children and her grand babies too, who called her Nana. She will be remembered by all, for her big smile and bubbly personality that she kept even till her last days.

She loved cooking and baking, and was known for her Mrs. Field’s chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls. She loved the ocean, and especially her family’s annual Cape Cod trips.

The most important part of Kara’s life though, was her relationship with her Lord. She leaned on Him through the joys and the hardships of her life, and encouraged her family to do the same.
