He was born in Hancock, MI, on October 4,1945, son of the late Arthur A. and Fannie Mabel (Niemi) Sauvola. He was a 1963 graduate of Chassell High School. He returned to Michigan after his honorable discharge.

Ken met Phyllis Aho, and after a brief courtship they married on August 21, 1971, in Rindge. They started their family that filled their lives with love and laughter.

After working for numerous local construction companies, Ken began his own painting business. He worked faithfully until diagnosed with cancer.

When not working for or helping others, he could be found attending to projects around the home.
