Kyrre 'KC' Johnson

Jaffrey, New HampshireKyrre C. KC Johnson, 58, of Jaffrey, NH died at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene on Monday, November 23, 2009 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.He was born on December 25, 1950 in Greenfield, Massachusetts, son of the late Kenneth and Helen (Cramer) Johnson. He had lived in Orange for most of his life and was a 1969 graduate of the Marhar High School in Orange. After graduation, KC proudly served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was stationed aboard the USS Blakely and USS Julius A. Furer and served asa radio operator. He became a master of this trade and after being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1980, KC went on to work as a civilian in both the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force as a Communications Specialist. KCretired in 2006after working for the Federal Emergency Management Agency for over 16 years and was instrumental in quickly restoring communications at several of our nations disasters.

KC was a steadfast Patriots fan and favored all of the Boston sports teams. He also found great pleasure in playing golf and could often be foundon his John Deere tractor or just out for a ride in his Mustang convertible with his wife by his side. KC will always be affectionately remembered as the big guy and as a gentle giant who had akind heartand always looked out for his friends and family.

KC is survived by his loving wife, Linda (St. Pierre) Johnson of Jaffrey, who he married only 5 short years ago; his daughter Virginia Borden and her husband Zach of Dotham, Alabama; his 2 grandsons, Joseph and Evan Borden, both of Dotham, Alabama; his step-daughter Marci Kenyon of Jaffrey; his step-son Jason Kenyon and his wife Jessica of Arlington, MA; HisAunt Eleanor and Uncle Bob Coffin of Herington ME, many cousins, countless close friends and his constant companion Henry the cat.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 1:00PM at the Mountain View Cemetery on Route 32 in Swanzey, NH.
