Lee Carpenter Webb, 48, of Manchester, died early Wednesday morning, November 8, 2017, in the comfort of her parents’ home, after a period of failing health.

She was born on June 27, 1969, in Washington, DC, the chosen daughter of Charles Conway Webb and Mary Lee (Teel) Webb. She grew up in Charlottesville, VA and attended The Tandem School in Charlottesville. She went on to receive her Bachelors in Psychology from Tufts University and later a Master’s of Education from University of California – Berkeley Campus. A second Masters followed, in Reading, from the Teacher’s College at Columbia University in NY.

Following her first masters, she worked for 10 years at the Woodbrook Elementary School in Albemarle County, VA. Her second Masters brought her to the Bedford Public School District – SAU 25 where she has worked for the last 7 years.

She was a dedicated educator and staunch advocate for the rights of children. She loved the children and they her. She enjoyed being outdoors, recently taking up tennis, enjoying hiking and kayaking as well. She liked to collect wild flowers from the yard, she had a taste for fresh peaches and was a skilled cook and baker, often offering her chocolate chip cookies as a bonus to those needing encouragement. Family meant much to her, and spending time with family was always looked forward to.

She is survived by her parents: Charles C and Cynthia Sterling Webb of Peterborough and Richmond, VA and Mary Lee Webb of Charlottesville, VA; her siblings: Peter F. Webb of Williamsburg, VA and Rebecca Webb Easterby of Houston, TX; 2 nephews: Christopher Conway Easterby and William Abbot Easterby both of Houston, her aunt: Sally Lent Keat and her husband James of Silver Springs, MD; her uncle: Richard Cassius Lee Webb and his wife Anne of Jaffrey, NH, as well as numerous cousins whom she adored.
