Lois L. Leavitt

Hinsdale, NH

Lois L. Leavitt, 51, of Hinsdale, NH and formerly of Jaffrey, NH, died at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene on March 29, 2009 after a sudden illness.

She was born in Peterborough, NH on October 10, 1957, daughter of the late Frederick and Rosalie (Despres) Leavitt. Lois had attended local schools as well as the Monadnock Workshop in Peterborough. She had grown up in Jaffrey and had moved to Hinsdale in 1999.

Lois had worked at the former Ames Department Store in Peterborough and had also been a groom at Fairfield Farm South in Richmond for many years.

Lois loved the outdoors and enjoyed any activity that involved being out in the fresh air including hunting, fishing, and gardening. If she ever found an animal that was injured or sick, she would help nurture it back to good health.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Heath.
She is survived by her step-daughter Donna Heath of Ashuelot; her step-son Michael Heath of Hinsdale; her sister Cheryl Leavitt and her husband Michael Malcolm of Jaffrey; her 2 brothers, Arthur Leavitt of Rindge, NH and Joseph Leavitt of Oxford, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

There will be no calling hours and services will be private and at the familys convenience.
