Marcia J. Boutwell

February 9, 1917 — June 1, 2008

Marcia J. Boutwell, 91, of Plantation Drive in Jaffrey died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jaffrey after a period of declining health.
 
She was born in Newport, New Hampshire on February 9, 1917, the daughter of the late Leroy and Beryl (Heath) Jordan and was a 1935 graduate of the Towle High School in Newport. 
 
Mrs. Boutwell had lived in Vermont before moving to Keene, NH and eventually to Dublin, NH.  She had also lived in Harrisville with her daughter briefly before moving to Jaffrey.  Previously she had worked for D.D. Bean & Sons and the Reed & Prince Company.  Mrs. Boutwell was a member of the United Church of Jaffrey and was very active with the Triple D at the church for many years. 
 
Mrs. Boutwell was a generous person who was always willing to help others, no matter if they were family or not.  She enjoyed camping and going to country music concerts as well.  Mrs. Boutwell will be especially remembered for baking her special cakes for her grandchildren.  They would choose their favorite shapes from her books and she would bake them.  She always cherished family gatherings and any time she could spend with family.      
 
Mrs. Boutwell was married to John  L. Boutwell for over 54 years.  He died on September 15, 1990.  She was also predeceased by her brother Richard Jordan. 
 
Mrs. Boutwell is survived by her 6 children; John Boutwell and his wife Helen of Farmington, CT, Carolyn Pockett and her husband Arol of Harrisville, NH, Charlotte Galbraith and her husband Peter of Greenfield, NH, Raymond Boutwell and his wife Joyce of Rowe, MA, Jeannette Olivo of Port Ritchie, FL, and Darlene Taylor of Dublin, NH.  She is also survived by her 17 Grandchildren, 32 Great-grandchildren, 2 Great-great-grandchildren, her sister May Newell of Claremont, NH, a special nephew Jim Newell and his wife Marge, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Burial will follow at Dublin Cemetery in Dublin.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 33 River Street (Route 202) in Jaffrey.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  Mrs. Boutwells son Raymond will officiate.
