Melrose “Mel” Gould, 69, of Hemlock Drive in Fitzwilliam died unexpectedly at his home Monday July 2, 2012. He was born July 1, 1943 in Portland, ME son of the late Melrose A. and Azora (Greene) Gould Sr. He was educated in Buxton, ME schools and following his schooling, had worked the woods before entering the United States Army. He had served during the Vietnam Era and following his military obligation he worked for various furniture factories’s and lived in Gardner, MA. In 1976 he began working at the New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough NH. He was employed there for thirteen years until he transferred to the former MPB in Keene, now known as Timken. He had retired from Teleflex (TFX Medical) in Jaffrey. He was an avid Bruin and Red Sox fan. He enjoyed his trips to Foxwoods and his Tuesday Night Bingo with friends at the VFW in Fitzwillam. He loved his dog Bear and time spent with family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of thirty six years Kathryn (Haley) Gould of Fitzwilliam; five daughters Deborah Kimball and her husband Gary of Whitesboro, NY, Lori Bergevin of Sullivan, Michelle Sault and husband William of Keene, Shawna Turner of Bozeman Montana, Melissa Roy of Maine; his son Melrose A. Gould III also of Maine; eight grandchildren; two brothers Arthur Gould of Alabama and James Gould of Maine; a sister Beverly Labbe of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Family and friends are warmly invited to a Celebration of Mel’s life to be held at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Route 202S) in Jaffrey on Sunday July 8, 2012 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM.
