Norman Richard Langevin

July 9, 1928 — August 12, 2009

NORMAN R. LANGEVIN, 81, of Gilmore Pond Road, Jaffrey died peacefully at his home on Wednesday August 12, 2009 following a period of declining health.

He was born July 9, 1928 in Pawtucket RI, son of the late George and Aurelie (Caouette) Langevin. He moved to Jaffrey with his parents at the age of fourteen.
Mr. Langevin had attended Sacred Heart Academy in Pawtucket and also Conant High School in Jaffrey.

He served with the Seabees in the United States Navy during World War II, and was stationed on Siapan, the Marianna Islands and in the Philippines. He was a member of the John Humiston Post #11 American Legion of Jaffrey, as well as Jaffrey Memorial Post # 5613 VFW.

Mr. Langevin had worked for the former O.B. Pierce Plumbing in Peterborough and had retired from Aubuchon Hardware following thirty one years of employment.

He was a communicant of St. Patrick Parish in Jaffrey.
He loved being outdoors and puttering around the house. He most cherished the time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife Jacqueline (Cote) Langevin whom he married on April 19, 1952; his daughter Georgianna Connor and her husband Harry of Rindge; three sons Norman A. Langevin and wife Christine, Michael R. Langevin and wife Peggy all of Jaffrey, and Eric M. Langevin and wife Margery of Hancock; eight grandchildren Angela, Kelly, Matthew, Scott, Krista, Megan, Nathan, Kourtney; two great-grandchildren Izabelle and Ava; a sister Dorothy Pariseau of Danielson CT; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his son Scott Alan Langevin in 1969 and his sister Blanche Fontaine in 2006.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to Home Healthcare Hospice and Community Services, Post Office Box 564, Keene NH 03431.

Burial will follow in the family lot at St. Patrick Cemetery, Jaffrey.

The Langevin family warmly invites family and friends to call at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street in Jaffrey on Sunday August 16, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00AM at St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. Rev Wilfred H. Deschamps, pastor will officiate
