Philip D. St. Pierre

Summerfield, Florida - Philip D. St. Pierre, 89, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, May 3, 2015 in Florida.

He was born on October 26, 1925 in Winchendon, MA, son of the late Francois and Sarah (Berard) St. Pierre.

Philip served his country honorably for over 20 years in the U. S. Navy. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and retired as a Chief Radioman.

Following his military service, Philip worked in the insurance field. He later served as the Town Clerk of Jaffrey, NH for 12 years from the mid 1970s to the mid 1980s.

He was a member and Past Commander of the John Humiston Post #11 American Legion in Jaffrey, and had been the Legion’s Bingo caller for 14 years. Through the Legion Bingo, he along with other members was instrumental in building the Legion’s Little League field.

Philip enjoyed wintering in Florida for more than 25 years before finally moving to Summerfield 2 years ago.

He leaves his loving companion of 28 years, Ann E. Stram of Florida; his daughter, Diane Phillips (David) of Jaffrey, NH; his sisters, Deedee Floria of Winchendon, MA, and Margie Liimatainen of Jaffrey, NH; his brother, Ernest St. Pierre of Rindge, NH; 2 grandchildren, Eric & Scott and 3 great grandchildren, Samuel, Arwen and Axton, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are warmly invited to Calling Hours on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452.

The Funeral Service will be immediately after calling hours on Monday, at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery on Goddard Road in Rindge.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Philip’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
