Phyllis L. Smith, 88 of Rindge died Friday November 27, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey after a brief illness.

Mrs. Smith was born on January 16, 1921 in Norwood, MA, daughter of the late Edgar and Margaret (Colbert) Webber. She was a graduate of Norwood High School and had lived in Abington, MA until moving to Rindge 32 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles F. Smith on May 31, 1995.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son Robert F. Smith of Rindge, NH; her granddaughter Kimberly OBrien of Swanzey, NH; her 2 great-grandchildren, Brooke and William OBrien, both of Swanzey, NH; her 2 brothers, Kenneth and Edgar Webber, both of Norwood, MA and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to Hospice at HCS, for patient care needs in the Monadnock Region, PO Box 496, Peterborough, NH 03458

At her request, there will be no calling hours.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Mrs. Smith on Friday December 4, 2009 at 1:00PM at the Jaffrey VFW Hall on 22 Hathorn Road in Jaffrey where a light lunch will be served and many stories will be shared.
