Redvers Gwaine White

June 1, 1928 — January 22, 2009

REDVERS GWAINE WHITE, 80, of Rindge died Thursday January 22, 2009 at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene following a brief illness.

He was born June 1, 1928 in Rindge, son of the late Ralph H. and Floribel (Wright) White.
He had attended Lawrence Academy in Groton MA and was a 1947 graduate of Conant High School in Jaffrey.

Mr. White worked as a self employed contractor in Rindge. Upon retiring he was able to pursue his life time passion of gardening and making maple syrup. He had opened a farm stand at his home garden.

Red was always passionate about Rindge politics, which led him to served the Town in several different positions. He had served twice as Selectman for a total of twelve years. He had also served on the Planning Board as well as the Board of Adjustment.
He was a life time member of the Rindge Historical Society. He was a member of the Monadnock Old Car Club, and attended the meets with one of his Ford trucks, which ranged from a Model A to the mid 1940s vintage.

He is survived by his son Bruce H. White of Richmond; his daughter Christine Delvecchio of Keene; three grandchildren Derrick Delvecchio, Matthew Delvecchio and Dominique Delvecchio all of Keene; his brother Peregrine White of Rindge. He also leaves his faithful companion Taurus.
He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Jean T. White and two half sisters Edith Scourtis and Debrah Whammond.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made his name to the Cheshire County Farm Bureau, c/o New Hampshire Farm Bureau, 295 Sheep Davis Road, Concord New Hampshire 03301.

Following cremation, burial will be private and at the convenience of the family

The family warmly invites friends to call at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202 south) in Jaffrey on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00PM to share memories and stories about Red.

There will be no formal funeral services at this time.
