Richard A. Lehtonen

New Ipswich, NH Richard A. Lehtonen, 61, of Binney Hill Road in New Ipswich, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born August 31, 1949 in Peterborough, son of Albert and Barbara (Antilla) Lehtonen. He was a 1967 graduate of Appleton Academy in New Ipswich and has been a life long resident of this community. For many years he worked as a self employed painter and carpenter. For fifteen years he was head of maintenance at the Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey and for the past nine years was Project Manager for San-Ken Homes, Inc. in New Ipswich He was a former Scout Master for Troop 26 in New Ipswich, a member of the New Ipswich Fire Department, as well as the New Ipswich Emergency Management program. He spent many hours conversing with folks around the world with his ‘Ham’ Radio. He loved to play guitar and enjoyed panning for gold in and around New Hampshire. He owned a great collection of guns and loved to spend time hunting. He is survived by his mother Barbara Lehtonen of New Ipswich; his wife of eleven years Elizabeth A. Lehtonen of New Ipswich, NH; his son Aaron A. Lehtonen of Newton, MA; a step-son Lionel H. Thibault of Troy, NH; two step-daughters, Christina Seppala of Ashby, MA, and Jennifer Hart of Jaffrey, NH; four brothers, Glenn Lehtonen of Florida, Carl Lehtonen of Rindge, NH, Paul Lehtonen and Kenneth Lehtonen both of New Ipswich, NH and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
