Robert 'Gene' Chesney

December 3, 1961 — August 4, 2015

Robert E. Chesney, (Eugene R. Collier), 53, known to his friends and family as “Gene”, was born December, 3, 1961, was living in Rindge, NH and went home to be with our Lord Jesus on August 4, 2015 unexpectedly.

Gene struggled for years with a neck related work injury while he was on duty with the United States Border Patrol. This injury, which caused multiple surgeries, changed the course of his future. It took a toll on his body, and ultimately led to his demise.

Gene finished his career by medically retiring from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in El Centro, California. He also served in the Armed Forces of the United States - U.S. Navy Branch. He loved geocaching, snowmobiling, and boating, but most of all he loved writing. He was gifted and talented with his writing skills. He was working to complete his book “The Further Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and was confident his book would be a big seller. He came up with a phrase and posted it on Facebook that stated “A question can never be answered for a man until it is answered to his own satisfaction.” copyright Robert E. Chesney.

Gene was preceded in his death by his grandfather, Michael Casalla; his beloved grandmother, Virginia Casalla, whom meant the absolute world to him; as well as his nephew, Brandon Putzer.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Chesney and their beautiful 10 year old daughter Katelyn Chesney, both of whom were the light of his heart and soul; his mother, Bonnie Woodward; his wife's parents, David and Carol Levandusky that he dearly loved and looked to for guidance; two sisters, Ginny Collier and Lynette Putzer; his dear aunt, Kathleen Thornton, whom he looked to for guidance; his uncle, Michael Casalla; his amazing best friend that always stood by him from the Border Patrol Academy, Neil Brady; along with other Aunts, Uncles, Nieces (notably Ashely Putzer), Nephews (notably Michael Collier and Anthony DeJackome), In-Laws, and friends.
