Roland P. Archambault

ROLAND P. ARCHAMBAULT, 81 of Winter Street, Claremont, formerly of Jaffrey, died Friday October 19, 2007 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

He was born February 21, 1926 in Jaffrey son of the late Fred and Lydia (Gamelin) Archambault. He attended Jaffrey schools and at the age of seventeen went to work at Bethlehem ShipYard in Quincy Mass as a welder. When he was eighteen he was drafted into the United States Navy and served during World War II. He was a member of the John Humiston American Legion Post #11 of Jaffrey and the Jaffrey Memorial Post #5613 VFW.After the war he returned to Jaffrey and began operating Archambault Disposal Service.Roland worked long hours but during his time off he enjoyed playing cribbage.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years Simone (Bedard) Archambault of Claremont; two daughters Debra A. Gentile of Rindge, Pamela L. Archambault of Jaffrey; a son Donald R. Archambault of Rindge; four grandchildren Monique, Gina, Justin and Matthew; two step-sons Bernard Revoir of New Jersey and Ronald Revoir of Claremont; step grandchildren; a brother Philip D. Archambault of Richmond; two sisters Marguerite Buzzell of Sebring, Florida and Doris Ellison of Peterborough; several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, two brothers Donald in 1934 and Robert in 1992 predeceased him.

In view of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance Fund, Post Office Box 107, Jaffrey NH 03452 or to the Golden Cross Ambulance, 1 Lincoln Heights, Claremont NH 03743.

As per Mr. Archambaults request there will be no calling hours or formal funeral services. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
