Ronald G. Hansen

October 6, 1952 — July 29, 2015

Ronald G. Hansen, 62, of Rindge died peacefully yet unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015.

Ron was born on October 6, 1952, in Cambridge, MA, son of the late Norris Hansen and Priscilla Anderson. He was a 1970 graduate of Medfield High School (MA) and earned a degree in Industrial Electricity at the NH Vocational Technical College in Manchester.

Ron was an avid sailor; he loved spending summers sailing Poole Pond in Rindge and Buzzards Bay in Cape Cod with his family. He was known as the man who was always working on projects, but shared the most interesting conversations if you could get him to sit down. Everyone knew that if anything needed building or fixing then he would be there to help. He was an accomplished expert in electro-mechanical technology, and loved to collect and repair of all kinds of antique tools, tractors, trucks and boats. He built the house that he leaves to his wife on Pine Eden Road with his two sons, and was dedicated to making the family camp a fun gathering place and origin of wonderful memories for his huge circle of loving family and friends.

Ron was an enthusiastic student of spiritual enlightenment, meditation and deeper understanding. He immersed himself with peace in Christ consciousness and studied dozens of spiritual traditions and paths to God. He ventured numerous spiritual journeys and developed his own methods that combined many techniques.

A master electrician, Ron proudly designed and built thousands of projects ranging from homes to complex industrial systems that bring water, power, heat and recreation to his beloved New England. These projects are part of his legacy and can be seen around the town of Rindge, and all over New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine.

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Dad during his 62 years: always have emergency supplies and tools in your car; never put a tool on the ground; stack the wood in the summer; find a way to make your dreams come true; never waste a day; and, most of all, spend time with your family.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Tina (Mercer) Hansen of Rindge; his two sons, Lukas in Upstate NY and Eric in Albuquerque, NM and their wives Amanda and Lauren as well as his four grandchildren, Zoe, Kai, Aksel and Isabelle.

Ron is also survived by his brother, Peter Hansen of Sonoma, CA and his two sisters, Diane Malcolm (Chip) of Natick, MA and Christine Hansen (Jim Connors) of Rindge, NH as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends.

At Ron’s request, there will be no calling hours; however all are warmly invited to a Celebration of Ron’s life which will take place on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Hansen Family Camp, 77 Pine Eden Road, Rindge, NH 03461.

Ron loved the Town of Rindge, raised his family here, volunteered in town, and led the Poole Pond Protection Association for many years. His remains will be buried at Hillside Cemetery in Rindge.

The family welcomes flowers, or, memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s name to the “That Others May Live Foundation” 6220 S. McLeod Drive, Suite 120, Las Vegas, NV 89120
