Ronald J. Vaillancourt, 85, of Ormond Beach, Florida and formerly of Greenville, NH, died Friday, October 25, 2013 in Florida with his family by his side, after a period of failing health.

Mr. Vaillancourt was born in Fitchburg, MA on October 7, 1928, son of the late Amedee and Yvonne (Fortin) Vaillancourt. He was raised in Greenville and had attended local schools. He had proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Previously, Mr. Vaillancourt had been a self-employed contractor. He designed, built and maintained Vaillancourt Mobile Home Park in New Ipswich, NH. He also held the position of Road Agent in Greenville and Mason in past years.

Mr. Vaillancourt was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, skiing and swimming. He also enjoyed riding snowmobiles.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Theresa (Bergeron) Vaillancourt, his daughters; Monique Coll of Jaffrey, NH and Jacqueline Beausoleil of New Ipswich, NH. His sons; Gerard Vaillancourt, Edward Vaillancourt and Maurice Vaillancourt all of New Ipswich, NH; his brother Paul Vaillancourt of New Ipswich, NH; his sisters Vivian Alton of Palm Bay, FL, Marie Bouley, Alina Alix and Denise Comeau all of Greenville, NH and Rachel Martin of Morris, IL, 20 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Norman Vaillancourt on May 14, 2005, his daughter Cecile Banks on June 17, 2010, and by his brothers, Roger, Ray, Leonard and Jean.

There will be no calling hours at this time.

Mr. Vaillancourt will be remembered at Mass on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 15 High Street, Greenville, NH 03048. Memorial Services will be held in the Spring when all of the family can be together after the winter.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Vaillancourt’s family would prefer memorial donations be made in his name to Halifax Hospice of Volusia/Flagger, 3800 Woodbiar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
