Rovena Scribner Robinson

October 25, 1940 — June 27, 2013

Rovena S. Robinson, 72, died Thursday June 27, 2013 peacefully at her home in Dublin surrounded by her family following a long illness.

She was born October 25, 1940 in Gloversville NY, daughter of the late Robert and Laura (Campbell) Scribner. She was a 1958 graduate of Gloversville High School and in 1962 received her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in Durham. She later earned her Master’s degree from Antioch College.

Rovena was a beloved guidance counselor at the Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School and Conant High School for nearly twenty years. She was also Director of Tutorial Services at the Dublin School. She was an active and well-loved member of her community. She was a member of the Dublin Women’s Club; a Library Trustee and was actively involved with the “Add On” Campaign at the library.

She lived her life to the fullest; she enjoyed traveling; was an avid reader and was a passionate Boston Red Sox fan.

She will be dearly missed as a mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend.

Survivors include her husband Thomas F. Robinson of Dublin; her three sons Campbell Kipka and his wife Jessica, Colin Kipka and wife Rachel, Alexander Kipka and Katherine Nintzel; her sister Natalie Klohck of Johnston NY; her brother Gene Scribner of Francestown; eight grandchildren Kenneth Robinson of Oregon, Sara and Jennifer Robinson of OH, Chloe, Astrid and Mather Kipka of Peterborough, Natasha and Catrina Kipka of Dublin; three step sons Tom Robinson and his wife Debbie, Jay Robinson and Karl Robinson.

Family and friends will honor and remember Rovena’s life by gather for calling hours at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202S) in Jaffrey on Sunday June 30, 2013 from 3:00 until 4:30PM. A funeral service will commence at 4:30PM in the funeral home chapel, for those gathered. Rev. Robert Kyte, pastor of the First Congregation Church in Jaffrey will officiate.

Burial in the Dublin Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family has requested that we honor Rovena’s life with contributions to her favorite charity Heifer International at www.heifer.org.
