Winchester, NH Sandra ‘Sandy’ Brunell, 67, of Winchester, NH, died peacefully at her home on Monday, October 31, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer. Sandy was born on January 14, 1944 in Jeffersonville, VT, daughter of the late Thelma and Gardner Hubbard. She grew up on a dairy farm in Putney, VT before moving to NH and graduating from the Marlborough (NH) High School in 1962. Sandy had lived in Jaffrey for many years before moving to Winchester 12 years ago. She had worked at Millipore in Jaffrey for almost 30 years. Some of her bigger pleasures in life included camping, cooking, baking, playing cards and listening to classical music. Her biggest joy was her family and their time spent together. Sandy also enjoyed volunteering at RSVP, playing piano and reading. Sandy was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Harvey, her son David Brunell, and her sister Rebecca LaPlant. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Theodore ‘Ted’ Brunell of Winchester, NH; her 2 daughters, Michelle Davis and her fiancée Richard Whetstone of Charlotte, NC and Angela Axberg and her husband Matthew of Klamath Falls, OR; her 3 sons, Shane Sweeney and his wife Kimberly of Peterborough, NH, Theodore Brunell, Jr. and his wife Judy of Winchester, NH, and Allan Brunell and his wife Janet of Swanzey, NH; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Davis, Lauren Davis, Meagan Collins, Branden Collins, Kaitlynn Sweeney, Shane Sweeney, Jr., Christopher Brunell, Tyler Brunell, Daniel Brunell, Alisha Brunell, Kula Kolee, and Annela Kolee; her sister Cheryl Johnson, her 2 brothers, Gregory Hubbard and Terry Hubbard, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sandy’s name to Hospice at HCS, 312 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH 03431.
Family and friends are warmly invited to join together and celebrate Sandy’s life on Friday, November 4, 2011, from 4:00 until 6:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey.
