Scott Louis Fontaine

Scott Louis Fontaine, 29, of Keene, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 14, 2017 in New Brunswick City, NJ.

He was born in Peterborough, NH on September 15, 1987, the son of Gregory L. and Stephanie A. (Vickery) Fontaine. He lived in Jaffrey for all his childhood and teenage years. He attended High School at Conant. He was intended to graduate in 2006 but dropped out of school in 2003, and later received his GED in 2012. He moved to Keene and surrounding towns for the rest of his adult life. He worked from when he was 15 until 27 at two restaurants, a bakery, a grocery store, and a factory and did a few odd jobs after that. Most recently worked as an Injection Molder at HCP Packaging in Hinsdale.

Scott was a wonderful person and full of life. He was always determined to accomplish his goals and very strong willed, energetic and outgoing. He got along well with people and would always go out of this way to help others.

He suffered from mental illness in his adult life but that didn’t stop him from keeping a positive attitude at all times. Scott also struggled with addiction his whole adult life since he was 15. He recognized this fact and learned a lot about it and kicked several addictions in his last few years.
He used the knowledge that he learned to help himself and others that were struggling with things. He overcame a lot in the last few years and never stopped fighting the addictions he overcame.

He enjoyed many activities in his life including, playing drums, music, skate boarding, biking, snowboarding, playing Bass in bands, weight lifting, running, team sports, hiking, swimming and mountain climbing. He loved everything outdoors.

He enjoyed his two dogs, growing up, and loved and always stayed close with his family and friends. Scott had a lot to offer and was taken away from us too soon. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Survivors include his mother and father: Stephanie and Greg Fontaine of Keene, His bother: Greg T. Fontaine and his wife Vanessa of Keene, his niece: Taylynn Fontaine and nephews: Hayden Fontaine and Finnegan Fontaine, his maternal grandparents: Floyd W. and Louise M. Vickery of Lacona, NY; as well as his aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents: Alfred L and Blanche A Fontaine.

There are no public calling hours. Burial will be held privately in the family lot in St. Patrick Cemetery in Jaffrey. A memorial gathering will be announced and held at a later date.
