Stephen C. Meyers

May 12, 1961 — July 15, 2018

Stephen Carl Meyers, 57, of Jaffrey, New Hampshire died at home on July 15, 2018. Born to the late Edward E. and Anne (Schaefer) Meyers in 1961 in New Haven, Connecticut, Stephen graduated from Gorham (Maine) High School and received a BS in Management from Babson College where he reveled in being the editor of the Babson Free Press.

Active in his community, Steve served on the Jaffrey-Rindge School Board, the board of the Peterborough Players and was active in the Jaffrey Rindge Rotary Club. He volunteered as a Land Steward with the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.

Steve had two favorite sports: politics and baseball. As founder and President of SCM Associates, a Republican direct-response fundraising firm, and founder of Granite Lists, a list management company, he was proud to be involved in many high-profile campaigns beginning with Pete duPont’s run for President and including Mitt Romney’s campaigns for Governor, President and Senator; Scott Walker and Charlie Baker’s Gubernatorial campaigns and Speaker Ryan’s campaigns to name a very few. President Ronald Reagan was his hero.

A friend to all who hated the Yankees, he was a life-long fan of the Boston Red Sox and had season tickets for many years. He suffered through the lean years and celebrated their World Series victories and was known for never leaving a game early. He enjoyed following them on the road to opposing team parks.

Walking in the wood with his many beloved rescue dogs gave him great pleasure. He was an avid reader of the Wall Street Journal and believed the world would be a better place if everyone read the WSJ editorial page. His extensive travels took him to 45 states and 40 countries. A recent trip to Antarctica was a highlight.

Stephen is survived by his wife Amy and children Edward and Lucy; his sister Marianne (Jay) Turner of St. Augustine, Florida; brothers Robert (Peg) of Bath, Maine, Edward (Deb) Meyers of Charlottesville, Virginia and Christopher (Heidi) Meyers of Quincy, Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Peterborough Players, P.O. Box 118, Peterborough, NH 03458 or the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, 54 Portsmouth Street, Concord, NH 03301. A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held later in the summer.
