Thelma Ward Knight

Thelma Ward Knight, 74, of Bryant Road Jaffrey passed on Tuesday October 30,2007 in Peterborough.

She was born April 25, 1933 in Kingston, England, daughter of the late Thomas and Mable (Southin) Ward. Mrs. Knight attended schools in England.

She was a graduate of Elmhurst Academy in Camberley England. She has been a resident of Jaffrey since 1994 having previously lived in Chapel Hill NC, England and France. She was an avid gardener and loved to dance. She enjoyed the fine arts and attending the ballet. She was a volunteer and had assisted the teachers at the Jaffrey Kindergarten program.

Mrs. Knight was a Reader and an active member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Peterborough. She most cherished her time spent with family. Her husband of forty-seven years Paul Emerson Knight died March 17, 2000.

Survivors include a daughter Paula Knight Barrameda and her husband Ben of Watchung, NJ; a son Harold Ward Knight and his wife Amy of Hollis NH; two grandchildren Mark and Claire Barrameda; her step mother Anne Lindsay Knight of Chestnut Hill, MA and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Crotched Mountain Foundation, 1 Verney Drive, Greenfield NH 03047 or to the Monadnock Humane Society, P.O. Box 678, Route 10, West Swanzey NH 03469.

Burial in Conant Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday November 9, 2007 at 2:00PM in the First Church of Jaffrey, Jaffrey Center. Rev. Deborah A. Hill, pastor, will officiate.
