Theresa Mary Smith

Theresa Mary Smith, 80, died peacefully at her residence on Groton Road in Ayer, MA. Theresa will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother. Theresa was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada and was the daughter of the late Mary (Gallant) and Charles Gallant. Theresa was predeceased by all of her siblings, Garnett, George, Clifford, Annie, Dolly, and Pearl. Theresa grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada where she graduated high school. Theresa later met her husband Reginald whom she would be married to for 59 years. Together they owned and operated a grocery and boutique store in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada. They would later move to the United States to raise their family in Waltham, MA. Theresa went on to work as a store manager and later retired as a Bank Teller, a job which she loved for many years. Theresa spent her summers at her lake side cottage in Nova Scotia. Theresa loved the sun and was always happiest at the beach. If there was one thing Theresa was a master at it was shopping she loved the mall. Theresa loved to have her family around her for get-togethers of lobster eating, donut making or poutine parties. Family was everything to Theresa. Theresa was married for 59 years to her late husband Reginald Leo Smith. Theresa is survived by her three children. Starr Dallaire of Pepperell, MA, Carole Pochini of Bartlett, NH and Guy C. Smith of Mason NH. Theresa was the loving grandmother to Lisa Cormier of Greenville, NH, Robbin Swieca of New Ipswich, NH, Joshua Smith and Samantha Smith both of Mason NH. Theresa also has four wonderful great grandchildren.

Burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Mason, NH, will be private and at the convenience of the family

At her request, there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 10, 2009 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell Street, Pepperell, MA. Rev. Paul L. Ring, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
