Travers A. Rank

July 9, 1957 — February 26, 2022

Travers Alan Rank, 64, of Antrim, NH boarded the last train on Saturday, February 26, 2022, with his loved ones by his side. Travers had more than his fair share of medical issues over the years, but his will to persevere carried him beyond what anyone expected.

Travers was born in Ilion, NY, the only child of Travers L. and Dolores M. Rank, on July 9, 1957. The family moved to Peterborough where Travers was raised. He graduated from ConVal Regional High School in 1975. He married Victoria Robinson Rank in Jaffrey, on April 20, 1985. They welcomed two wonderful children, Travers L. and Madison B., whom they raised in Antrim, NH. Devoted to his children, Travers went on nearly every single class trip with his children throughout their school years. He was very proud of their many accomplishments.

Travers was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Altemont Lodge 26 in Peterborough, NH. He worked his way up through the chairs and was a past master. He was a train enthusiast. He belonged to the Pepperell Model Railroad Club and the Amherst Railway Society. He enjoyed anything to do with railroading: taking short rides, photographing trains, and reading and researching them. He was also a member of the Monadnock Railroad Club and gave a talk about the local history of trains at one of their shows. He also spent many years racing remote control cars and trucks in the region.

Travers worked for many years with his family at Seven Falcon, a fastener distributer company in Antrim. When he had leukemia, he started his own delivery company to keep his own hours throughout treatment and provide for his family. Other places he worked over the years were NH Antiques Cooperative in Milford, CUES in Amherst, Owens Corning Basement out of Concord and at the time of his passing he was a counterman for Sanel NAPA Auto Parts stores. He was especially good with heavy duty parts and got great satisfaction in making just the right paint match for vehicles. He was well-read. He enjoyed trivia, particularly Jeopardy! He enjoyed time spent at the ocean, especially at Old Orchard Beach with his family. He found great joy dining out with friends and family as often as possible.

Travers is survived by his wife of 36 years, Victoria Rank of Antrim, his son, Travers L. Rank of Bennington, and his daughter, Madison B, Rank of Milford. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Marion Robinson and brother-in-law, Brian Robinson of Jaffrey, and his other brother-in-law, Kenneth Robinson from Fitzwilliam, NH.

Friends and family may attend a celebration of life held at the Altemont Lodge, 8 Windy Row, West Peterborough on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. The Masons will hold a Masonic Memorial service during this time of remembrance.
