Ursula S. Dickie

Ursula S. Dickie, 80, a longtime resident of Peterborough, NH died on May 18, 2016 at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, MA after a sudden illness.
Ursula was born on September 1, 1935 in Berlin Germany a daughter of the late Walter and Maria (Smucsek) Griessbach.
She was raised and educated in Germany, eventually immigrating to the United States in 1953. She resided in Keene and was employed by American Optical until 1979 when she moved to Peterborough to manage the Salzburg Inn until 1993. Ursula married Raymond Dickie in 1988 and made their home in Peterborough. Together they have enjoyed many wonderful trips throughout Europe, the United States and many of the islands, Kauai Hawaii being among their favorites.
She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and most of all spending time with her family. She kept in close contact with her sisters, nieces and nephews in Berlin Germany, writing them each week and exchanging pictures of family. Ursula brought her daughters back to Berlin every couple of years while they were growing up to keep the bond with the family that lived an ocean apart. She was very proud of her German heritage and often told stories of what life was like back in the days of her childhood.
She is predeceased by her daughter Angela Possiel, sisters; Anna, Martha, Ella, Erika and one brother Siegfried.
In addition to her husband, Raymond, survivors include: daughter Monika Kemp and her husband Larry of Dublin, NH, Heidi Parker and her husband Breck of Saco, ME, a step-daughter, Donna Schuman of Marblehead, MA, a sister, Ingeborg Weller and her husband Klaus of Yuma, AZ; her grandchildren, Colby Luopa and his fiancé Deanna Race of Swanzey, Clayton Luopa of Brooklyn, NY, Lindsay Luopa of Saco, ME, Joshua Breen of Fort Bragg, NC, Matthew Possiel of Keene, NH, Nicholas Possiel of Myrtle Beach, SC and many nieces and nephews residing throughout Germany.
At her request, there will be no calling hours.
A celebration of Ursula’s life will take place on Friday, May 27, 2016, from 3:00 to 5:00pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River Street, (Rte. 202) Jaffrey, NH 03452
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Ursula to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P. O. Box 650309 Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
