Warner Brown Cornwall

Warner Brown Cornwall died Friday, August 26, 2011 at RiverMead in Peterborough, NH. He was 91 years old. Mr. Cornwall was born in Melrose, Mass. on November 10, 1919, son of the late Doris (Brown) and George E. Cornwall. The family moved to Ashburnham, Mass in 1932. Warner attended Tabor Academy in Marion, Mass. After graduating, he was employed by the L.S. Starret Co. in Athol, Mass as an apprentice machinist. He married Anne Smith Winter in 1942. Mr. Cornwall served in the United States Army Air Force for the duration of World War II. After his discharge, he worked for the Heywood Wakefield Co. in Gardner, Mass. Warner then lived in New York where he was a marketing representative in the railroad, supply, transit and trucking industries. Upon retirement, he joined his second wife, Frances Trowbridge Cornwall in the administration of Image Productions, a small television organization in Norwalk, CT. Mr. Cornwall lived in New Canaan and Norwalk CT for forty-six years. Mr. Cornwall was a member of the United Church of Rowayton, CT and the Union Congregational Church in Peterborough, NH. Mr. Cornwall was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Hills. He is survived by his three step-children, Prue B. Doan of Trumbull, CT, Belden H. Brown of Carlsbad, CA, and Mary B. McLaughlin of Essex Junction, VT; 6 grandchildren, his half-brother, George E. Cornwall, Jr. of Ashburnham, Mass, a niece, a nephew and many cousins and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Cornwall’s name to the Union Congregational Church of Peterborough, 33 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.

At his request, there will be no calling hours or formal funeral services.

A memorial gathering will take place at the RiverMead Center, on RiverMead road in Peterborough, NH will take place on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 10:30 AM.
