Alice E. Aittama, 93, of Winchester, MA, and formerly of Peterborough, NH, died peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2026, after a period of failing health. Alice was born on April 6, 1933, the daughter of the late Felix and Anna (Sivonen) Parkkila.

Her father died when she was very young.

She was raised and educated in Detroit and was a devoted housewife and homemaker after marrying Richard J. Aittama on August 8, 1952. Alice and her family lived in Michigan and California until settling in Peterborough, NH for many years.

Alice loved singing and music and participated in singing hymns on the radio with her brother, David, and sister, Helen. She had a passion for gardening, painting, and her beloved pets.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, who died on November 13, 1997, her parents, and by her siblings.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Aittama of Winchester, MA, her grandson Julian Mallove, and by many nieces, nephews cousins and close friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ashburnham Apostolic Lutheran Church, 315 Winchendon Road, Ashburnham, MA 01430.

Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastors Colin Kinnunen and Michael Niemela officiating.

Her burial will immediately follow the funeral service in the Ashburnham Apostolic Lutheran Church Cemetery.
